Giannis Kakaziotis’ farm is in the beautiful valley of The Acheloos river, 500 meters from its east bank, in the Kalivia community and 8 km from Agrinio. He is one of the first organic farmers in Etoloacarnania prefecture, one of the co-founders of the Organic Farmers Group and has been practicing organic farming for over 15 years. Giannis Kakaziotis in his farm This small 31 acre farm consists of 17 acres of Navelina oranges, 9 acres of Sanguinelo oranges and 5 acres of Clementines. The micro-climate created by the proximity with the river, helps to the natural ripening of the fruit and its delicious special taste. Every year it is this farm that exports the first organic Oranges & Clementines to the markets of Europe. Picking Navelina oranges in Kazakiotis farm The fertilization of the citrus in the farm is achieved by scattering, over the whole area, decomposed manure from organic sheep and goats and organic compost, which provide excellent nutrition and eliminate the need for further fertilization. This combination helps all microorganisms creating a healthy and alive soil, to be activated and multiplied.
