Certification for Organic Production

Any businessman growing, producing or marketing organic products has to notify the proper authority and is subject to the System of Control and Certification.

The businessman signs a control contact with the Control Organization thereby initiating the procedures of his business’s integration to the control and certification system.

In Greece it is the Ministry of Agriculture that governs the Control System.

The procedures for production, processing, standardization, packaging and marketing of organic produce are governed by Regulation  834/2007 of the European Union.

On the completion of the control procedure, The Control Organization issues certificates of compliance concerning the product and certificates of quantity for its marketing.
